Recap and Moving on: Februray

February was and then it wasn't, so fast that there seemed to be no time to let my soggy shoe's kiss linger on the pavement. Blurring and smearing life across the rain covered window. Man, do I love the rain but it's hard to enjoy while in fast forward.

Books I read this month:
-Shadow born by Moira Katson (I love when I get a free book for my kindle and it ends up being good enough that I want to buy the other books in the series)
-Shadow forged by Moira Katson (The third book was a must after reading this book)
-Shadow's End by Moira Katson (Almost finished. what's going to happen? The suspense is killing me)
-The Old Testament (Still working through this one. Slowly but surely)

Ipod on shuffle this month

Life on the Big Island

This month has been a whirl wind of all kinds of craziness. My time has now become monopolized by work. I love my job, I love the kiddos and the people I work with so much. But I miss my babies and I don't want to talk about it any more. So don't ask and I won't tell, for fear my cold, cold heart will melt and run down my checks. Talking about my emotions makes me uncomfortable so let's just skip to the glorious, outdoorsy, happy, fuzzy filled weekends.
Weekends full of nature

Weekends spent gazing out old windows, looking a creepy trees.

(come on, there has got to be a ghost in this picture. Is that too much to ask? Just one, nice little ghost to show up in one of my pictures)

You've got to be kidding me. There has to be one hanging  out around this terrifyingly old tricycle

Lazy weekends spent roping the cattle

A little horse back riding. Although, the little cowgirl was afraid to ride on this barrel horse. What the what? She rides my gargantuan, blue horse but has to be dragged onto this tiny little barrel horse. True story, you wouldn't know from the picture.

How about a weekend full of extreme kite flying

Evs grew tired of the chilly weather

And enjoyed nature with Grandma in the car

Nory bug can rock a princesses dress like it's her job but she is equally as comfortable rockin' dirt from head to toe because rock collectin' is serious business and not even a huge pile of buffalo chips will stop this little love

Speaking of buffalo chips, this little guy wanted to check out what we were having for our picnic lunch. He wandered closer and closer. He could smell our Twinkies a mile away.

So there you have it. Weekend life on the big island

Life Captured: January

Finally, Chris and I have jumped into the 21st century. Well, Chris jumped and dragged me along with him. Much the same way I plan on getting into heaven. As Chris is being translated I will hold onto his leg and I'll squeeze my way in. BAM, heaven, here I come.
We finally have new cell phones. Phones that take pictures, get group texts and take pictures. I've been told it does a lot of other stuff but the best thing it does, And the only thing I can figure out how to do, is take awesome pictures. So here you go, life captured on my phone
Wait there's more
Look at all those fun things we did. Blue went to the vet, I don't think he thought that was fun (see picture in first collage). A lot of dress up, playing with the cousins, rodeos, drawing, and a lot of smiles. Awwww, life.

Recap and Moving on: Janurary

I love winter. It's comfort and contentment, like wrapping in a warm blanket and having soup, nice hot, thick soup. January works well with my person. The low clouds and blue sky. Freezing cold air kissing my nose and ears. Yes, I work well with winter.

Books I read this Month:
- 'Outlander' by Diana Gabaldon (It had good reviews. I wasn't impressed)
- 'Waking Kate' by Sarah Addison Allen (I read the sneak preview and can't wait to buy the book. I love her light writing style)
- 'Old Testament' (working on this one. The process is a little slow)
- 'Allegiant' by Veronica Roth (more or less the same as her other books in the series. I like them)

Ipod Playlist:
Because the Lil' Boss is boss and I absolutely love to hear her sweet little voice jammin' out in the back of the car and because she so politely requests 'Little Talks' and 'King and Lionheart' by Of Monsters and Men every single time we get in the car, my playlist mostly consisted of those 2 songs.

CDs I Dug in January:
- Ellie Gouldings, 'Haylcon Days'
-Bastilles, 'Bad Blood'
- Sleeping At Last. They are a new band to me and are pretty good (Thanks for the tip Dari)

Things Lil' Boss Loves to do:
-Make Birthday cakes out of play dough and sing happy Birthday to herself.
-Reminding us her Birthday is in March and she wants a big cake.
-Draw, Draw, Draw on the paper Daddy brings home from work.
-Help me cook.
-Go to nursery.
-Make up songs to sing.
-We have been working with her to say, "Excuse me" when she needs to interrupt us. She is killing it! Good girl.
- And apparently wearing awesome onsie jammies and moon boots.

Things the New Babylove Loves to do:
-Laugh and smile all the time
-Eat, Eat, Eat, every 2 hours
-Refuse to drink from a bottle
-Trick mom by sleeping from 10pm to 8am for days in a row and then bait and switch, waking up at 3:00am.
-Lay on the changing table and look at her sisters hair bows hanging on the wall.
-Reach for things.
-Get kisses and hugs from sister.

Ever Baby

Our little love, Everly is 2 months old
She laughed for the first time. I was singing to her and she giggled. It surprised her and her beautiful blue eyes got so wide. She is so ticklish.
She sleeps about 6 to 7 hours a night. waking up like clock work at 4:30am.
She loves to suck on her hands.
She is such a happy girl!

Explosion of Christmas Cheer

We love Christmas and we really try to bring the true meaning of Christmas into our little home. Any chance we had, we would explain to Elanora that Christmas was the day Jesus was born and how much Jesus loves us. I told her it was Jesus's birthday. She didn't skip a beat when she said, "Yeah it's Jesus's birthday and we need to eat cake and sing to him." Sounds perfect to me :)
How about presents. We love the spirit of Christmas and we also love presents!!!
A week before big man in red would come, Nory and I went through all her toys and put the ones she didn't play with in a bag. Her and Chris took them to DI. We explained to her that we were giving toys to kids who didn't have as many as her. As she put each toy in the bag, she said, "These toys are going to kids who don't have any toys." She made sure to add, "Santa will bring me more toys." Because really, who doesn't love more toys?
Before that excitement there was this, because we did have to wake the wild child up.
She is such a good natured, happy baby girl. She loved every present she received and was so excited that she wanted to play with each one before moving to the next. We had to keep reminding her to open another one
She was excited to get the movie, Tangled
She loved her Anna doll from Frozen
She really loved her piggy bank and immediately had to go get her "monies" and put them in her piggy bank. She gave it a good shake and then she dumped it all out just to put all the "monies" back, shake and then repeat. After a few 100 times of this process we redirected her to more presents. When she saw her sled she screamed enthusiastically "Yay, I got a boat!"
Everly love hung out in my mom's arms as all this excitement and noise was going on
After presents we had our traditional baked praline french toast
Then of course a holiday photo shoot that went as well as to be expected with a wild 2 year old, whose hopped up on presents and candy canes and a new, little baby girl.
We got one good picture of little Ever and then the rest of her pictures went a little like this
Big sister's patience lasted 2 seconds longer then Baby Girls
Nory knows how to chillax
These sisters love each other!

After 2 minutes of pictures, our cozy cottage exploded with Christmas cheer and toys

100 Chocolate Kisses and the Spirit of Christmas

We started our holiday season in a sickly manner and ended it in a sickly manner but we definitely had an enjoyful time in between.
Due to some awesome viruses that were lurking behind every door of our house we weren't able to do all of the Christmas activities we wanted to. In fact we slacked off quite a bit, darn it.
We did get to act out the Nativity at a family party. Nory was an angel, Chris was a shepherd, I was the picture taker and baby Ever was the super cute, cry in the background so everyone has to strain to hear the scriptures being read, until at last she falls asleep, baby girl. Pretty sure the last 2 characters listed are located in Luke 2, right?
I'm not sure if angels can get much cuter and they definitely can't get much louder. The little angel was having so much fun running around screaming with her cute cousin Camryn. 100 chocolate kisses helps the singing voice for sure!

Our production of the nativity is going Broadway, it was that good.

We had a great time with family! It was a wonderful way to feel the spirit and remember why we celebrate Christmas.
